Maria José Carvalho de Almeida

Maria José Carvalho de Almeida was born in Lisbon on the 30th of November, 1971, and has been passionate about books and writing since she was 15. Hotel manager by training, she left her job as a Commercial Director in an internationally renowned chain to fully dedicate herself to her best creation, her son Francisco.

She temporarily moved to Brussels in 2021, hoping for new experiences to create. Maria completely put aside her former professional training and devoted herself with great love to yoga and writing for children - currently having several specializations in both.

Since then, “Páginas em Movimento” emerged, designed with the intention of promoting and valuing the Portuguese language in a playful and constructive way, using dynamics of movement, visualization, breathing and relaxation through the elaboration and narration of stories that encourage human contact, compassion, companionship as well as integration into a more conscious society. Three passions in one project: children, writing and movement.
